Review of Roger Hamilton's 'Wealth Dynamics' workshop
I was very impressed by Rogers workshop which had unique content, a great atmosphere and process for delegates to network and share ideas. The delates were a fascinating and welcoming group of about 80 entrepreneurs and ecademy members.
I'll also state upfront this is my perception and personal view of the conference which may or may not correspond to others views.
It wasn't an NLP conference - however there were a lot of NLP attitudes and approaches under the surface. This was to be expected as NLP is really about exploring what works and the conference was about what works in relation to creating wealth.
Quoting the workbook, "Wealth Dynamics will give you this clarity (to produce wealth) . It is not just one path, but every path - of which your path is one.
Learn the rules of the game, learn the flight deck. Create clarity, focus and 20:20 vision and your wealth will follow.
Will I become wealthier because of the conference? My instinctive answer is yes because there were one or two distictions that have changed some of my perceptions about aquiring wealth. - However the real test is of course to ask me in two or three years!
What I liked about the actual content (there was a lot more):
Internal and external values for wealth
Internal
- Passion
- Talent
- Knowledge
- Network
- Charachter
- Purpose
External
- Fullfill needs (retail)
- Fullfill wants (retail)
- Compenents (wholesale)
- Investment (wholesale)
The idea the wealth is not about whether you are rich at a particular moment in time but a measure of how likely you are to atract wealth resonates with me. Also that the core values to aquiring wealth start with understanding your passions, developing talents, aquiring knowledge and developing a network.
Developing your (wealth) network
A wealth network consists of individuals filling the following sets roles:
Resource network
- Financiers
- Mentors
- Opportunists
Support network
- Peers
- Supporters
- Advocates
Production network
- Generalists
- Specialists
I found this useful for helping clarify who I would like to network with and what I can offer them
Your (poverty) network
Be aware that people filling some of these roles may help you loose your wealth or slow you down
- Doomsayers
- Doubtors
- Passagengers
- Detractors
Your wealth team
When you know your own wealth profile you will underatand the activities that you will both enjoy and will help you create wealth. You also need a team of colleagues of complimentary profiles to plug the 'gaps' in your wealth creating 'system.'
When you are working with people of a similar profile it's best to agree who is 'pilot' and who is 'co-pilot'
It is often better to choose a mentor of a similar profile because they will naturally mentor you down your easiest path.
There are eight profiles:
- Creator
- Star
- Supporter
- Deal maker
- Trader
- Accumulator
- Lord
- Mechanic
( In my map the profiles are loosely based on thinking styles: What people 'creators', Who people 'supporters', When people 'traders', How people 'mechanics' )
Other thoughts
The conference was structured in such a way that it was easy to network and share ideas with other delegates and everyone I met was welcoming and positive.
The approaches are models and provided they are used as such can be really useful.
Now do I want to join them in Bali in September?
